From the Military to Cloud & Cyber - and Back to Help You
I didn't come up through a traditional tech path. I came up through the military, where I learned discipline, mission focus, and how to operate effectively under pressure. When I transitioned out, I had to figure out how to turn years of military service into a career in an industry that didn't always know how to read a DD-214.
"I made every mistake so you don't have to. I wasted months on the wrong certifications, sent resumes that never got read, and almost gave up before I found the formula that actually worked."
Building the Business
After breaking into the field and earning my security certifications, I started helping other veterans make the same transition. What started as informal coaching turned into Adams Cloud & Cybersecurity - a full-service consulting practice based in San Diego, CA.
Today I work with two types of clients: veterans and professionals who want to break into cybersecurity, and small businesses that need real security help without enterprise-level pricing or a 12-month consulting contract.
Why I Work the Way I Do
Everything I do is written down. No verbal-only agreements. No ambiguous scope. No surprise invoices. That's not just a business policy - it's how I operate, rooted in how the military taught me to document everything and hold the line on standards.
My communication is direct. If something isn't working, I'll tell you. If a certification isn't right for your goals, I won't recommend it just to sell coaching hours. My clients succeed because I treat their goals like a mission - and missions don't fail on my watch.
San Diego & the Veteran Community
San Diego has one of the highest concentrations of active duty and veteran personnel in the country. It also has a booming tech and defense contractor scene. I built this business here intentionally - to serve the community that shaped me, and to help veterans realize that the skills they built in uniform are exactly what the cybersecurity industry is looking for.
